Our jewelry comes from the hidden river island town of Mompox, Colombia. This Unesco World Heritage Site was considered the safe guard city during colonial times. Here, nobles hid their treasures from pirates. These jewels were made by local artisans who learned this ancient Arabic technique from the Spanish. Ever since, each filigree piece has been carefully designed, formed, and polished by Colombian goldsmiths.

The process: 100% manual
1. The silver metal is melted and turned into a bar.
2. The bar is stretched in a rolling mill.
3. The strips are turned into threads as thin as a hair strand.
4. The threads are twisted.
5. The twisted threads are rolled and turned into tiny versions of ribbon strips.
5. The outer shape of each piece is formed and assembled, so the threads can fill it and make it come to life.
6. The final piece is soldered, polished, cleaned, and dried.
